Which browser storage Coby uses, why optional analytics needs your consent and how to change your choice.

Last updated

Essential storage is always active. Optional PostHog analytics measures visits and product usage. Marketing pages do not use automatic click capture or session recording. Inside the app, analytics can also include interactions and session recordings, with form inputs masked.

Your choice applies to this website and its app on the same domain, in this browser. We remember either choice for six months. You can change it here at any time.

You choose whether analytics runs

Optional browser analytics is disabled until you accept it. You can choose Accept cookies or Reject cookies through the consent controls, and use Cookie preferences to change your choice at any time. These choices concern optional analytics cookies and similar storage. Refusing them does not prevent you from viewing the website, sending a challenge or following a booking link.

We remember either choice in this browser for six calendar months. After that, we ask again. Your choice is specific to the browser and device you use; clearing browser storage also clears it.

These controls apply to browser analytics. The application also generates separate server events for operational and usage analysis, as explained in our privacy policy. Changing a cookie preference does not switch off those server events; you can contact us to exercise your data protection rights.

Storage needed for the service

The local storage entry coby_cookie_consent records your analytics choice, the notice version, and the choice and expiry dates. It applies your preference for six calendar months. An expired choice no longer permits analytics; the browser record is checked when you return.

If you use a protected Coby application area, Supabase authentication may use cookies to maintain and refresh your signed-in session. These serve authentication rather than optional analytics. Their lifetime depends on the session and authentication configuration.

Cookies and similar storage strictly necessary to provide a service you request do not require the same consent as optional analytics. Browser settings can block or delete them, but doing so may remove your saved preference or prevent a signed-in session from working.

Optional analytics with PostHog

With your consent, PostHog helps us understand which pages are visited and how visitors use the website. Analytics includes page visits and departures, selected interaction events, visited page and referrer URLs, browser and device information, and browser and session identifiers. The service also receives technical connection information when a request is sent.

On public marketing pages, automatic click capture and session recording are disabled. In the signed-in dashboard, analytics can include click activity and, if enabled in our PostHog configuration, session recordings with inputs masked. Signed-in analytics can be associated with your user ID, email and name. These browser features also require analytics consent.

PostHog is not initialized and optional browser analytics events are not sent before consent. Browser storage used after acceptance includes the following:

  • Cookies and local storage with names beginning ph_ and ending _posthog associate activity with your browser. Analytics cookies have a configured lifetime of 180 days. The related local storage is cleared on rejection or when an expired consent choice is detected on a later visit.
  • Session storage entries ending _window_id and primary_window_exists coordinate browser tabs and sessions. Session storage normally lasts for the tab’s browsing session.
  • An entry beginning __ph_opt_in_out_ records the PostHog consent state and is removed when analytics is rejected.
